Furthermore, your degree can be recognised in 31 Member States of the Commonwealth of Africa, Asia, Caribbean, and the Pacific regions Commonwealth Member States TQF.
The Board of Governors (BoG) is the supervisory body of SBSM. The two key areas of the role of the Board of Governors relate to compliance and institutional performance. The Board consists of four members: the President, the Secretary, one elected member of the academic staff, one elected by all other staff, and one representative of the students. Members of the Board of Governors normally hold office for a period of four years.
The Faculty and Academic Council (FAC) deals with the operational and academic matters of the institution. It consists of the Academic Dean, Head of Faculty, and programme leaders.
The Research Council (REC) develops the strategy for research, scholarship, and innovation, thus contributing to the SBSM’s overall mission. The council also needs to promote research, scholarship innovation, and the well-being of the researchers and scholars. The REC takes responsibility for the review and oversight of research projects that engage with research participants through interactions and/or interventions, and/or use individually identifiable data about living individuals.
The Ombudsperson is an impartial and strictly confidential contact person who lends her support to all students and faculty. She facilitates dialogue between students and SBSM when they need help to settle disagreements, problems, and grievances.
In the field of professional doctorate studies, the ombudsperson is responsible for doctoral students and their supervisors in cases of conflict over doctoral projects. The Ombudsperson reports to the President of the board of governors.
